Haunted Hues: Watercolor Journaling for Beginners by Emily Solis
Enter the spooky and colorful world of watercolor in Haunted Hues: Watercolor Journaling for Beginners! This beginner-friendly workshop is designed to introduce students to the foundations of watercolor in a fun, relaxed, and approachable way. Participants will learn basic watercolor techniques such as blending, layering, creating washes, and adding simple details while exploring playful Halloween-inspired colors, textures, and themes.
Throughout class, students will experiment with watercolor through guided exercises before using the techniques they’ve learned to create their own spooky-themed journal spread. This workshop encourages creativity over perfection, helping students feel more confident exploring watercolor as a medium without fear of “messing up.”
By the end of class, attendees will leave with a finished seasonal journal spread, foundational watercolor skills, and the reminder that watercolor is meant to be playful, expressive, and imperfect in the best way.

Travel watercolor kit with 6 spooky watercolors, watercolor paper, custom name tag, thank you card and worksheet for journaling ideas

Emily Solis is a creative educator and artist specializing in hand lettering, journaling, and mixed-media art techniques. She teaches engaging, beginner-friendly workshops designed to make creativity accessible, playful, and practical for everyday use. With a background in education, Emily creates welcoming, well-structured workshops that balance skill-building with creative exploration, making her classes approachable for all experience levels.
- Workshops are non-refundable, non-transferable or redeemable for cash, and all sales are final. We have committed to compensating our instructors for their time, supplies and talent.
- You don't need a Marketplace admission ticket to attend workshop, we're all about flexibility here.
- For workshop check-in, all you need is your name and order number.
- If you can't make it on the actual day, you may get the kit to finish the project at home. Reach out to the instructor to arrange kit pickup or shipping.
- In the event a workshop is cancelled, attendees will be fully refunded within 10 days of the event. Little Craft Fest/Little Craft Place reserve the right to cancel any class due to lack of participation.
- Workshops are not included in the daily pass or 3-day pass.
- Ticket holders grant Little Craft Fest/Little Craft Place permission to use their recorded likeness at the event, with the understanding that these images and videos may be used for future promotional activities.
