Blackwing pencils were favored by award-winning creators throughout the 20th century. Despite a cult following, they fell victim to cost cutting measures in the 1990s and were discontinued but not forgotten. Analog-minded devotees began paying as much as $40 for a single pencil.

We acquired the brand in 2010 and brought Blackwing pencils back for a growing culture of artists, musicians, and everyday people looking to slow and live mindfully.

To accomplish this, we use the best materials possible. California Incense-cedar. Premium graphite. And pencil artisans whose craftsmanship is unmatched.

Science says that writing things down will help us learn and remember them better. So we make notebooks too. And sharpeners. And other tools that make using our pencils a joy.

We want music, and other arts, taught in schools. So much so that a portion of every product we sell benefits this cause.
